About

Heppner Christian Church is about unity through faith, love, and action.

UNITY – We strive to be united together with each other and with Christ. As Jesus prayed that we would in John 17:1-26. Paul also spoke about unity in Romans 12:4-5, "For just as we have many parts in one body and all the body’s parts do not have the same function, so we, who are many, are one body in Christ, and individually parts of one another." Peter shows us what unity looks like in 1 Peter 3:8, "To sum up, all of you be harmonious, sympathetic, brotherly, kindhearted, and humble in spirit."

FAITH – Our faith is placed in Christ alone and His written Word. Trusting in Him to lead and guide the church for His glory and the spreading of the Gospel. “And without faith it is impossible to please Him, for he who comes to God must believe that He is and that He is a rewarder of those who seek Him.” Hebrews 11:6; “Who is the one who overcomes the world, but he who believes that Jesus is the Son of God?” 1 John 5:5; “So faith comes from hearing, and hearing by the word of Christ.” Romans 10:17

LOVE – Love is rooted in the two greatest commandments given to us by Christ. Mark 12:29-31 says, “Hear, O Israel! The Lord our God is one Lord; and you shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your mind, and with all your strength.’ The second is this, ‘You shall love your neighbor as yourself.’ There is no other commandment greater than these.” Loving God and loving each other is the ultimate goal that every believer should be striving for. “Beyond all these things put on love, which is the perfect bond of unity.” Col. 3:14; “A new commandment I give to you, that you love one another, even as I have loved you, that you also love one another. By this all men will know that you are My disciples, if you have love for one another.” John 13:34-35

ACTION – The truth of who Christ is and the fact that He is the only way for salvation for all mankind is vitally important. This is why Jesus called the church to be active in spreading the Good News regarding God’s freely offered salvation and grace for all. “Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age.” Matthew 28:19-20; “Prove yourselves doers of the word, and not merely hearers who delude themselves.” James 1:22; “Sanctify Christ as Lord in your hearts, always being ready to make a defense to everyone who asks you to give an account for the hope that is in you, yet with gentleness and reverence” 1 Peter 3:15; “This gospel of the kingdom shall be preached in the whole world as a testimony to all the nations, and then the end will come.” Matthew 24:14
